MARTELL XO WON A DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL AT THE 2017 SAN FRANCISCO WORLD SPIRITS COMPETITION (SFWSC)

May 2017 - Since its introduction in 2000, the SFWSC has become one of the most respected and influential spirits competitions in the world. The House of Martell is proud to announce that for the 2017 edition, the 43 members of the judging panel awarded the double gold medal to Martell XO in the  cognac XO category.

Featuring more than 2,100 entries, the 17th SFWSC was the most important in its history. During highly controlled blind tastings, judging panels tasted every product to award the finest and most complex cognacs.

The Double Gold Medal is awarded to the very few entries that receive Gold medal ratings by all members of the judging panel. These are considered as exceptional spirits that set the standard for their category.

With its distinctive, arch-shaped bottle, Martell XO is a powerful symbol of inspiration and a testimony to Jean Martell’s visionary spirit. This cognac reveals  rounded and fruity notes followed by the characteristic power and finesse of eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne. Best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water, Martell XO is ideal for special occasions.

About Martell
Martell, the oldest of the great cognac houses, was founded by Jean Martell in 1715 at the height of French art de vivre, when gastronomy, taste and craftsmanship were celebrated and enjoyed with style. These became the three pillars of the House of Martell and remain intrinsic to the Martell vision today. For three centuries, Martell has produced, exported and marketed cognacs which are recognized worldwide for their outstanding quality and finesse, obtained through double distillation of exclusively clear wines and aging in fine-grained oak casks.
