The House

ABOUT MAISON MARTELL

The story of the oldest of the great cognac houses began more than three centuries ago, in 1715, when Jean Martell, an Englishman from Jersey in the Channel Islands, settled in Cognac and founded Maison Martell. He was just 21.

Since the creation of the Maison, Martell has established itself as a beacon of excellence and sophistication in the world of cognac. At the heart of Martell’s success lies its unwavering commitment to savoir-faire, encapsulated in the ethos “Only the best, without artifice”. Martell craftsmanship, from the distillation of exclusively clear wines to the meticulous ageing process in fine-grained oak barrels, defining their distinctive style renowned worldwide for richness, elegance, and finesse.

Founded during a golden age of French art de vivre, Maison Martell has forever been synonymous with luxury and prestige. Today, the House is reinventing art de vivre for the 21st century with exclusive products and elevated experiences for cognac lovers around the world.

With a heritage of more than 300 years, Martell also invests in the future, promoting social and environmental responsibility. From regenerating the terroir to supporting sustainable initiatives, Martell is committed to ensuring a responsible future for cognac production.
